One-year Programme/Professional

Haute Couture Pattern Maker

ONE-YEAR PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME

In fashion production today, pattern-making skills are a decisive factor in professional placement.

The course provides a complete study of couture pattern making. The skills acquired enable students to achieve a high level of professional preparation and competitiveness.

Haute Couture Pattern Maker

The course is designed for those wishing to specialise in Haute Couture pattern making, even without previous training. The programme provides comprehensive preparation aimed at developing professional apparel pattern-making skills. The course centres on moulage, a technique used to create patterns directly on the dress form in three dimensions. Students learn to create basic garments and individual garment components, before developing them into increasingly complex projects. Eighty per cent of the programme is devoted to couture pattern making. It also includes industrial pattern making for fast fashion, taught according to the method of Milan’s Istituto Secoli. The course includes seminars on Lectra CAD-CAM and CLO3D software, used for vector pattern making and size grading. By the end of the course, students have the skills required to work as professional pattern makers in Haute Couture ateliers and industrial garment-manufacturing companies. The predominantly practical training provides concrete tools for entering the fashion industry.

Classes begin in September.
